Jennifer Rene Psaki
Jennifer Rene Psaki is a American political advisor who served as the 34th White House news secretary between 2021 and 221. A member of the Democratic Party, Psaki was previously the White House deputy secretary (2009), White House deputy communication director (2009-2011) as well as spokesperson for the United States Department of State 2013-2015, and White House communications Director (2015-2017). Psaki was an CNN political contributor between 2017 and 2020. Psaki started her career in 2001, as an influential political contributor to CNN. She was involved in the re-election campaigns for Tom Harkin (Iowa Democrats) for the U.S. Senate, and Tom Vilsack (Iowa Governor). Psaki was later named the press secretary's assistant in John Kerry's 2004 presidential race. Psaki was communications director of Joseph Crowley, a U.S. Representative, as well as the regional press secretary for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee from 2005 to 2006. Psaki returned to politics in 2012 as the press secretary of President Obama's 2012 campaign. [20] Psaki quit as spokesperson for the United States Department of State on February 11 2013. There was speculation she would succeed Jay Carney, White House Press Secretary, at the Department of State.[21However, Josh Earnest replaced Carney on May 30, 2014. She returned to the White House in 2015 as the director of communications, and she was there until the conclusion of Obama's presidency.
